For whom.
For machine operators who will be lifting with a machine with a load moment of 10 tonnes/meter (machine weight approx 14 tonnes) or more.
What else you need to know:
You do not need a certificate to work with an excavator when using it to dig. However, as an employee you must have had demonstrable instruction. If you use the machine to hoist, as an operator you need a TCVT GVM certificate ‘Earth-moving machine with hoisting function’. This certificate is required by law for machines with a load moment of 10 tonnes/meter (machine weight approx. 14 tonnes) or more. No distinction is made between machines: shovels, crawler excavators and tyre excavators are all called earth-moving machines.
For the training for earth-moving machine operator with lifting function (GVM) we offer a five-day training course. This concludes with a theory and practical exam. If these exams are completed with satisfactory results, the TCVT GVM certificate will be issued.
