Every year we provide the Minor Foundation Engineering for the Horizon College from Hoorn and Heerhugowaard and the Construction and Infra departments. A minor is a voluntary additional subject chosen. Students come to our location in Hoorn on 10 Tuesdays and are taught a specific part of Foundation Engineering each week. On the basis of various cases, they have to present a solution at the end of the course with the help of the information and research they have gained. Examples include reading a CPT or understanding a pile calculation. Working in contaminated soil and the measures to be taken when doing so are also an important part within the work. Finally, the students present their work in small groups and the assessment is converted into a real grade.
