The foundation world is developing rapidly. Attention to safety, organisation and quality is increasing, and so in recent years there has been a growing demand for good and accessible training courses. With input from various working groups of NVAF, the industry association for foundation companies, and further development of earlier initiatives, we launched the foundation industry vocational school in 2022.

				The Foundation Worker Basic course is for people new to the foundation worker profession. The course covers safe hoisting of loads and working at height and foundation risks. The course lasts three days.

				This course is specialist advanced training for professionals who make pile foundations. You will have an average of two years' experience when you take this course. The course develops your knowledge of machinery; it covers pile drivers and drill motors, auxiliary equipment and hydraulics. You will also gain basic knowledge of engines. In the foundation techniques section, you will learn about piling and drilling and additional techniques. Measuring and plotting is also part of this course: checking working drawings, drafting readers and sighting. You will learn welding and burning in practice. Finally, you will learn about inspection and completion. This course lasts 3 days.

				The Foundation Worker Advanced course is designed for permanent employees. Participants have first completed the Foundation Worker Basic course, or gained basic knowledge elsewhere. In the course you will learn the basics about motoring, hydraulics and inspections.
The course also includes the theory, practice and exams of docking construction (TVT W409). In addition, attention is paid to lifting, physical load and lifestyle and risks and measures when working in or with contaminated soil (water) or dredging spoil. Finally, you learn skills needed when working in a team: how to address others, give feedback and how to act in a representative manner. This course lasts 5.5 days and ends with an exam.

				This course is a specialist advanced course. With this course, you will become a specialist in wall making and anchoring techniques. You will have an average of two years' experience when you complete this course. During the programme, you will develop your knowledge of machinery, including piling and drilling engines, auxiliary equipment and hydraulics. In the foundation technique section, you will learn about vibration and compression and additional techniques. Measuring and setting out is also part of this course: checking working drawings, drawing up readers and sighting. Welding and burning will be taught in practice. Finally, you will learn about inspection and delivery. This course lasts 3 days.

				This course is designed for the supervising construction site worker. You will learn the theory in hoisting loads and learn about lifting plans. Attention is paid to making stability calculations and the correct layout of the construction site. In the field of foundation engineering, we cover basic knowledge of calculations, foundations in a public environment and drawings and calculations. DLP is part of this programme. In it, you will learn about safety, health and occupational hygiene as a project manager. Laws and regulations on cables and pipes and Klic are also covered. In the field of concrete and grout, you learn about concrete recipes and admixtures and how to recognise problems in foundation piles. The quality and registration block covers control and delivery, monitoring and registration systems. Communication is the last part of the programme. In it, attention is paid to written communication and negotiation. The course lasts 11 days and concludes with an exam.
